I'm Dreaming of a White Memorial Day????

Matthew and I decided to beat the heat and take a roadtrip to Big Bear to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Palmer. We knew it was supposed to be a bit cooler but we had no idea we were in store for snow! Good thing I packed warm PJs for Matty as that is all he wore for the 4 days we were there. It was a fun trip besides staying inside the whole time. My dad treated me to lobster for dinner one night. He just came home from work with them, yum! My mom and I just played with Matty and did lots of tummy time. It was a relaxing trip and made the days Tony worked go by a lot faster. Matthew was an absolute angel and slept through the night without a hassle. He loves his Grandma and Grandpa and was all smiles!

Splish Splash!

Since we were on our 4th straight day of 100+ degree heat, Tony and I decided to attempt a dip in the pool with Matthew. We bought some swimmers at Costco and put on the rashguard that Uncle Mikey bought him. Matthew loved it! We were able to stay in for almost 45 minutes and he had a blast. We're going to Big Bear for the rest of the week but hopefully if its warm when we get back we can take another dip!

BBQ with The San Nicolas'

Tony's family from NYC was in town. His cousin Jeannette and her husband Dave were producing a conference at the La Costa Resort so they flew out Jeannette's mom, Auntie Ferminia and the twins (Renee and Joelle). We got together to celebrate the birthdays of both Auntie Ferminia and Tony's dad (also named Tony). Mission Bay Park was a great place to beat the heat as we were having 100+ degree days that week but it was much nicer on the coast. Matthew was not on his best behavior. He screamed for most of the event. Apparentally, he doesn't like being out of routine!

Our trip to the Klinglers'

Matthew and I dropped by my long time friend, Alicia's house last week. Alicia is the mommy to 3 kids, 2 of which are pictured above. Matthew is being held by Reese (the youngest) who is 3 1/2 years old. What I find hilarious is that my then 10 week old son, dwarves her practically. The other little girl is Daelyn, age 5.

Matthew's Mother's Day Portraits

These were taken in early April and he was about 6 weeks old. I didn't want to post these until now so we didn't ruin the surprise.

Bumpin' Heads w/ Uncle Mikey

Sunday was a special day. We packed up and went to Big Bear for an overnight trip to see my parents. Tony got me some great stuff but the best stuff of all was the present that doesn't cost money- the promise to do a deep cleaning on the house this coming weekend. I'm good at keeping the house organized and clean on the surface but the base boards and door frames haven't been done since my first trimester! He's going to do windows, hang stuff on the walls, etc. He's also taking my car into have it detailed as it hasn't been washed since the baby was born!

We had portraits taken of Matthew for my Mom, Grandma and Tony's sisters and they came out great. Tony picked up a couple of 10x13s for me and we'll get them framed and matted this weekend. As Tony hadn't had a day off in 2 weeks when Mother's Day rolled around, he's going to do most of the chores this coming week. His new days off are now Sunday and Monday which is something to get used to.

Roll Over Beethoven!

This morning, I heard Matthew stir in his crib around 6:15am, around our normal wake up time. On my way down the hall to his room, I hear him really start to wail. I walk in and find him on his side. He managed to roll there on his own and it scared him. This evening after a nap, we hear him start to scream bloody murder and realize he had completely flipped himself over and scared the living daylights out of himself. Our little man is a strong guy and already doing this at 10.5 weeks. Perhaps a future linebacker for our beloved Chargers?

Wild Blue Yonder

This weekend was the Air Show at March Air Force Base. Tony had to work it as he is a cop in the Reserves. He had to pull some long hours but in between breaking up fights and sending rednecks to the drunk tank, he took some awesome pictures. Matthew and I stayed home since the one time we took him to the base, the planes scared him with the loud engines. Maybe next year!
