Del Mar Fair 08

The St Nicks headed out to the Fair and met up with Shannen and Cheyenne. It was fun to eat the yummy fair food and go through the shops and look at all the exhibits. Matthew was a champ and rarely fussed. It was nice to get out of the Temecula heat for a day and be in the sunshine and have some fun.

Sunshine and Summertime

We were so excited that Matthew's Godparents, Jenn and Danny Castro finally came to visit! They are vacationing this week in SD and staying with Jenn's parents (the Galyeans in Esco) with their kids Alex and Gabriel. They invited us over for Carne Asada and a pool party. Shannen and her niece, Cheyenne joined us as well. Tony was like one of the kids doing flips off the diving board and going down the slide. Matthew had fun in the pool between naps and even dozed off on a blanket on the grass that Mommy laid him in on so he could dry off in the sun. We had the best time and it was so fun to be with my best friends.

Spending Time With Uncle Mikey

Matthew and Mommy made a quick trip to Big Bear to drive Grandma home after her visit. Mommy was really glad to have Grandma with us for the trip to Children's Hospital in San Diego for Matthew's DMSA scan. It was a little traumatic for all involved but the extra set of hands was so appreciated. Anywhoo- when we got to Big Bear, we were so happy to be out of the horrible heat! Now that Matthew is a little bigger, Uncle Mikey feels alot more secure about holding him, especially since he only has one working arm. He held him, picked him up and even took him for a walk in the Baby Bjorn.

An update on the scan- Matthew's urologist feels that he should outgrow this whole thing and the kidneys look healthy and functioning. Yay!

New Toys

We finally put that gift card that Grandma Bev sent down for Matthew to good use. We decided to get him a playmat/activity gym and he loves it! We chose this one because it converts to a tunnel when he is more active. My only regret is that we didn't get it sooner because he can roll his way out from under it now.

A Palmer Family Visit

We had a little family get together with Jen's parents and her Uncle Larry and his girlfriend Petra. Matthew was an absolute angel! He never cried during the whole visit. In fact, he was content with the attention or if he was just playing on the floor. At one point, we looked over to find he just passed out on the floor while playing with his toys. He loved his Great-Uncle Larry and Auntie Petra made him laugh. Tony BBQ'd burgers and the guys kicked back with Coronas. It was a fun visit!
